When should I start giving Vitamin D supplements?
International societies (like the American Academy of Pediatricians...) recommend giving all infants a minimum of 400 IU of Vitamin D daily beginning days after birth.
800 IU of Vitamin D daily is recommended for all babies at higher risk of Vitamin D deficiency, like exclusively breastfed babies. -
Doesn't my breast milk contain all the nutrition my baby needs?
Breastmilk contains all the essential nutrients, antibodies and other factors important for growth and development. However, breast milk contains a very low amount of Vitamin D which is about 22 IU/L in a Vitamin D - sufficient mother - much lower than the daily recommended intake of Vitamin D.
That's why all international societies recommend that all infants receive a supplement of 400-800 IU of Vitamin D daily beginning days after birth. -

How can I prevent iron supplements from staining my child's teeth?
Liquid iron supplements can sometimes cause temporary staining on teeth, regardless of the product used. For this reason, there are some easy steps that can help prevent this from happening:
- Place the dose on the back of the tongue and follow it with water.
- Rub the teeth with a clean cloth or brush with baking soda (sodium bicarbonate).
Regular dental hygiene practices are also important.

This is common in iron-containing multivitamins for both children and adults, but it does not affect the quality, safety, or effectiveness of the product.
-
The drops are not dispensing from the PediaForte D bottle, what should I do?
The first drop is sometimes delayed due to trapped air in the dispensing mechanism. To resolve this, wait a few seconds with the bottle held upside down (90 degree); the drops should then dispense properly.
